2009-10 Annual Fund 2009-10 Annual Fund

The purpose of our Annual Fund is to strengthen the mission of City Center Academy and Spruce Hill Christian School.  It is a vehicle for turning the individual generosity of donors into an eternal investment in the lives of children and young adults.

Annual Fund donations are used to support key areas of the school’s strategic growth.  We can only accomplish these goals through the partnership and generosity of those who support the school’s mission, understand the importance of quality education, and derive satisfaction from reaching out to those who believe that the choice of a quality education should not be limited to a few.

Your gift will support our operating expenses and help us meet these strategic goals:

SUPPORT FOR OUR STUDENTS

Through our tuition assistance program we maintain a policy of enrolling students regardless of a family’s ability to pay.  Over 60% of the student body receives tuition assistance in an amount that is significant enough to allow families access to the kind of education that is key to their children’s future.

Education is enhanced by our understanding the hindrances our students face.  Overcoming personal and cultural obstacles to learning, particularly for children growing up with the challenges of the urban environment, is part of our mandate.  We have effectively implemented solutions to those challenges and will continue to do so.

SUPPORT FOR OUR TEACHERS

We will continue to hire and maintain the finest teaching staff.  Our faculty is characterized by a sense of mission and a Godly love for children.  They persevere in their task and continue to grow in their ability to reach and teach the students we serve.  The value we place in our teachers must be demonstrated by a continued commitment to increasing salaries.  Recent salaries….

Exceptional support for our teachers through professional development opportunities and the training necessary to carry out new initiatives is a must.  Our teachers are grateful to have such opportunities.  They are mentored, assisted and prayed for by an administration which is well-staffed and available for them.

SUPPORT FOR OUR ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Our teachers are also encouraged by the provision of resources essential for a well run classroom such as books and other teaching materials, updated technology, appropriate classroom furnishings, art supplies and sports equipment.

Academic success requires strategic initiatives and ongoing curriculum improvement.  We are currently turning our attention to improved technology, especially at the high school level, and building a curriculum and bridges the middle school and high school programs.

With these financial needs met, we expect both measurable and intangible results in the lives of our students.
