CCA/SHCS RECEIVES DONATIONS
IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

ANNUAL FUND GIFTS

We extend an invitation to our families, graduates, local churches and other friends to join a community of supporters whose involvement, prayer, encouragement and financial contributions allow the school to fulfill its mission.  Every student benefits from annual giving by supporting an operating budget that includes teacher salaries, classroom materials, student activities, technology, building maintenance and our substantial tuition aid program.

The 2009-2010 Annual Fund has a goal of raising $750,000.  Our goals are ambitious because of a passionate determination to ensure that CCA/SHCS has the necessary resources to enroll students without regard to the family’s ability to pay full tuition and to secure its mission for future generations of under-served children in Philadelphia.

The Annual Fund also highlights the importance of participation in giving.  Whether your gift is $10 or $10,000, every gift is appreciated for the difference it makes to our students.

PARTNERS PROGRAM

Through the Partners Program a donor can make a substantial impact in the life of a student, faculty member, or an entire classroom. Commitments at these substantial giving levels provide a level of partnership through which we can assure our students and faculty that their needs will be met.  Partnership giving levels include:

Student Partners                  $ 1,200 per year
Faculty Partners                    $ 6,000 per year
Headmaster Partners          $ 10,000 per year

Involvement in the Partners Program will enable the giver to have an impact on urban Christian education—and the opportunity to keep informed about that impact personally.  We host periodic “Partners” events intended to allow our Partners the opportunity to witness first-hand the difference they make.
For more information on our Partners Program, please take a look at our Partners Brochure or contact our Development Office at 215-382-7839.

PENNSYLVANIA EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT TAX CREDITS (EITC)

Through the Pennsylvania Educational Tax Credit Program (EITC), corporations can make a huge difference I our ability to provide our neediest students the funds they need to receive a CCA/SHCS education.

A business can contribute up to $200,000 in scholarship aid to CCA/SHCS through our partner scholarship fund, the ACSI Children’s Tuition Fund, and receive a tax credit of up to 90%.  The contribution may be deducted for federal tax purposes to further reduce, or in some cases completely eliminate, the cost of the contribution.

Businesses are eligible if they pay one or more of the following Pennsylvania taxes:  corporate net income tax, capital stock and franchise tax, bank and trust company shares tax, title insurance company shares tax, insurance premiums tax, or mutual thrift institution tax.

For more information about corporate giving and the EITC program, call Dr. Seth Cohen at 215-382-7839

THE BOICE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Boice Scholarship Fund was established in 2006 to honor the vision, work and legacy of CCA’s founders, Dr. and Mrs. James Montgomery Boice. This endowed scholarship, the school’s most prestigious award, is intended to attract and retain highly qualified students and encourage them to excel in their high school education at City Center Academy.  When fully implemented, The Boice Scholarship will provide two scholarships per class and include a “Boice Scholars” mentoring program.

Contributions may be designated to this fund by writing “Boice Scholarship” on the memo line of your check.

GENERAL ENDOWMENT

An Endowment Fund is being built in order to provide for the long-term success and financial sustainability of CCA/SHCS.  Endowment gifts provide resources for long-term investment. Your gift is prudently invested and carefully managed for growth.  While principle is preserved, earnings allow us to keep tuition rates affordable and help sustain appropriate teacher salary levels. The endowment fund will secure the school’s mission for future generations of under-served children in Philadelphia.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Underwriting and sponsorship of events such as our annual Spring Benefit serve to defray the school’s expenses in producing these fund-raising events.  You contributions are fully tax deductible.
