Under the instruction of Cathy Struck at SHCS and Joe Sinagra at CCA, students are shown how to use various mediums, are guided through projects of all kinds, and are encouraged to express and create their innermost imaginings and dreams. For a sampling of some of our students' incredible artwork, visit the online art gallery!

CCA Partners with World Vision

In order to effectively equip our high school students to be a “light to the city”, this year CCA is partnering with World Vision to pilot a “Faith & Justice” course.  This course, modeled after World Vision’s Youth Empowerment Project, challenges students to not only examine the troubles and important issues in their neighborhoods, but also to take the next step and engage in transformative action.  The course’s primary goals are to teach a biblical perspective of our communities and our call to be kingdom agents in them and to develop skills in leadership and advocacy as students conduct field work in their neighborhoods and with local officials.  World Vision hopes that CCA’s class will be a model that they can replicate at high schools across the nation.

CCA Senior Selected By National Merit Scholars as a National
Achievement Semifinalist

CCA is very pleased to announce that one of seniors has been selected as a semifinalist for the very prestigious National Achievement Scholarship.  The National Achievement Scholarship Program is conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The National Achievement Scholarship was initiated in 1964 to recognize academically promising black students throughout the nation.  More than 150,000 black students took the 2007 PSAT and requested consideration in the 2009 National Achievement Program.  Only 1,600 were selected as semifinalists, based on the sum of their critical reading, mathematics, and writing skills scores on the PSAT.  We are very proud of Taylor and pray that she will be selected as a finalist in the National Achievement Scholarship Competition.
